CNC Milling
CNC Milling is an automated process used to manufacture 2D and 3D workpieces by removing material from raw stock.
To make a CNC milled items , a block or sheet is placed on the machine table below a spindle which holds a cutting tool. A computer controls the tool used, the rotation speed and the feed of the spindle, and the horizontal motion of the table. This allows loaded cutters such as drills, taps and end mills to remove chips of the material to create required shapes.
CNC milling cuts shapes out of a metal or plastic material blank that is usually flat, Turning is ideal for cylindrical items and is primarily done using round rod raw material, but square and hexagonal bar stock can also be used.
